Alkagesta secures ISCC CORSIA certification for sustainable aviation fuel
ISCC CORSIA certification enables Alkagesta to trade and supply eligible sustainable aviation fuel under international aviation sustainability requirements.

Alkagesta has obtained ISCC CORSIA certification, allowing the company to trade and supply sustainable aviation fuel that qualifies under the Carbon Offsetting and Reduction Scheme for International Aviation. The approval provides a recognised basis for demonstrating that supplied fuel meets sustainability requirements applied to international aviation.
The certification covers the lifecycle greenhouse gas reduction criteria established under standards from the International Civil Aviation Organization. Alkagesta said its approval was granted through an ICAO-recognised sustainability scheme, enabling it to offer airline counterparties verified supplies of eligible sustainable aviation fuel, commonly known as SAF.
Traceability across the SAF supply chain
ISCC CORSIA certification establishes chain-of-custody and traceability procedures across the supply process. These controls are intended to document the sustainability characteristics of eligible fuel as it moves through the market, providing counterparties with information required for emissions monitoring and regulatory compliance.
Anthony Guida, Alkagesta’s biofuels trader and business developer, said the certification reflected the continued expansion of the company’s biofuels operations and its approach to participating in regulated markets. He added that the traceability framework would help customers address both international and regional requirements applying to sustainable aviation fuel.
The approval comes as the aviation sector moves into a more developed phase of emissions reporting and compliance. For fuel suppliers and airline buyers, recognised certification schemes provide a common framework for assessing lifecycle emissions performance and verifying whether SAF consignments meet the relevant eligibility criteria.
European aviation fuel requirements
In Europe, ReFuelEU Aviation has introduced compulsory thresholds for blending SAF into aviation fuel. At the same time, the planned reduction of free allowances for aviation under the EU Emissions Trading System is increasing the commercial relevance of lower-carbon fuel use for market participants.
Alkagesta said its certification would support airline counterparties seeking SAF supplies aligned with regulatory obligations. By applying an approved sustainability framework, the company aims to provide consistent documentation and verified product traceability as international and European aviation fuel rules develop.
The certification also adds to efforts to improve alignment between international SAF markets. Common sustainability and custody requirements can give buyers and suppliers a clearer basis for documenting eligible fuel, while supporting greater consistency in how lifecycle greenhouse gas reductions are assessed across transactions.
