BP Brings West Nile Delta Gas Well Online Early to Boost Egypt Supply

BP has commenced natural gas output from the Fayoum-4 well situated within Egypt's West Nile Delta development, delivering volumes approximately two years earlier than originally planned, according to reports from Egyptian media on Monday.

The well delivers approximately 80 million cubic feet per day of natural gas into the domestic grid. The additional output arrives as Egypt contends with falling domestic production rates, a trend that has prompted authorities in Cairo to resume significant volumes of liquefied natural gas imports to satisfy local energy demand.

Fayoum-4 has been integrated directly into BP's established West Nile Delta processing infrastructure via the Giza-Fayoum pipeline. Utilizing this existing route avoided the requirement to install fresh subsea infrastructure to facilitate the flows.

BP serves as the operator of the West Nile Delta facilities, maintaining an 82.75% equity interest in the asset, with Harbour holding a stake in the operations.
